i came up with a new (i think) term last friday at coffee hour. i was chatting with a couple of folks about possibly creating a station of the cross out of found objects. one of them said something about it being "liturgical" - i heard something to do with "glitter," since i was thinking about the artistic part of the project.
then, i thought, oh my gosh what if there were such a thing as "glitturgy"???!!!
what would glitturgy possibly mean? something having to do with some combination of the following:
-liturgical banners, stoles, or other paraments decorated with glitter (or perhaps simply have a shiny/bling factor going on)
-lectionary passages that connote a shiny-ness, lending one's imagination to envision glitter - moses' or jesus' illumination, joseph's coat of many colors, etc.
-the possibilities are endless
amazing? yes. quite literally.
