I forgot to mention that we also discussed the SOA Protest being a Turner event next fall. Definitely a good idea. I'm so pumped.
Also - I go back and forth between wanting to make Calvary my 2- or 3-year home for Turner church placement - but I'm just not sure it's going to give me room enough to be as radical as I'd like to be.
Thuse poses the questions:
-Is it always necessary to be revolutionary? radical?
-What wisdom is to be found in working in the systems of charity and justice that others have put hard work and thought into already?
-could Community Care Fellowship be a good fit for me to be a bridge between Calvary and the greater community?
-Should I quit the Turner program?
-Should I quit div. school?
-Should I quit the ordination process?
-Should I cut my Calvary placement off after this year?
-Should I advocate for having a primarily non-congregational field ed placement next year, and then a half and half agency/church placement my senior year - or a completely new thing that I start third year, where I work with lots of congregations (and probably especially Calvary because I'll have at least a year of relationship built up with them)?
Ok, this is really not the time to be writing on this - but it's the interesting stuff of life!
I'm really going to answer my Hebrew Bible study group question right now.
And I'm not going to worry about the weird light I just saw next door outside of the dining room window - I think it's just a car.
Yay for Katie-style stream-of-consciousness writing.
