I had my first English Communication/Chilean Culture class today, which I think will be lots of fun. The people in the class seem super-fun - a lot of them know each other because they're with the same agency - so, anyway - it makes the class a little lighter, because they're already comfortable with each other. It's been interesting hearing about the different agencies that people are here with, because most of them got here a little earlier and had some other activities before the orientation here. There's COPA, ISA, and some others. ISEP is probably one of the smaller groups - ISEP and independents are grouped together. Anyway - my professor seems nice as well, and the activities we're going to do seem interesting. I look forward to having a real voice and non-congestion, though - ugh. Today's supposed to be the last day I take one of the meds., but we'll see.
Oh - and I finally made it to the post office today to mail some letters/cards I've had on me since I've been here.
I need to go now, because I got to talking with Steph for awhile in here, and I need to take my meds. and write some more e-mails before my next class, which is fortunately in the same building where I'm at right now.
Oh - and Steph and I talked a little bit about traveling we want to do, so I hope to start to make plans with people some time soon - I look forward to hearing from Nate about a possible trip to Mendoza as well.
And maybe today after class I'll make my way to the mall to get a scarf, a sweater or two, some more shirts, some jeans that fit, see about getting my hair cut, get pharmacy-stuff, etc., etc. Just so you know - countries tend to have different climates in different parts of the country, so it's good to bring stuff for different climates and seasons, even if you're going to be in Santiago, Chile during the summer for a long time.
Oh - and I need to make my showers shorter - oops. The main thing I think is that it's hard remembering that I have to turn on and off the gas and water heater before and after my shower.
Oh - I really have to go now, because I forgot I need to sign up for extra-curricular stuff too today! Eek!
Lots of love, Jessica
P.S. Oh, there are so many things to write about - I'm sure I'll eventually touch on all the important things at some point - whether it's right now or when I get back, or on here, or by e-mail, etc...
