My mom sent me a flag-shaped cookie cutter as a good activity idea to do with Alain and Adriana - which I thought would be great - a lesson about the differences between our flags (which I was able to do later with my Texas flag that I brought with me, actually), and the fun of baking. However, I decided to use the spreadable butter/margarine that we had in the fridge (we also had a harder kind which I didn't discover till later), and we don't have measuring cups/spoons, so this was the result. Fun and tasty, though, nevertheless. The dough just wasn't firm enough to be cut with a cookie cutter, at least one that has an intricate part to it. And, the icing was a little iffy as well. Anyway - I had to take a picture. And again, both fun for all involved (Alain and Adriana helped a bunch) and tasty for all those who have partaken - in fact, I may have to go get me a little mid-night snack, since I seem to have made myself stay up super-late again.

It's so fun to cook in another country with no measuring utensils or the same ingredients you use at home...and everything is in the metric system...things turn out a bit differently each time. But, its still fun and usually tastes good anyway.
