so, i've been ready for spring/summer for awhile. things i miss?:
our older neighbor who usually sits out on the sidewalk in the afternoons in his electric wheelchair, napping and watching cars go by - i like to wave to him as i drive home from school
my walking sandals, sitting, waiting in my closet, ready for an adventure
my hole-y jeans - they're just not as comfy if i have to wear long underwear underneath
our neighbors across the street who like to sit on the porch and play funky music really loud in their yard, and whose kids float in and out of the house, playing on the stationary exercise bike in the yard or with whatever toys or games they come up with
porch-sitting - with books, friends, drinks, faraway friends on the phone, or whatever combination of those things is appropriate
not second-guessing whether this or that will get canceled because of the snow
cleveland st. baptist church having random saturday fish frys in the vacant yard across from the church
sleeveless shirts with lightweight sweaters
diverting to shelby park to walk along the pond and say hello to the ducks and geese, the folks (likely illegally) fishing on the bank, and the kids feeding the ducks and geese with bread
ice cream weather - yes, any day warrants a visit to pied piper, but i like when it's really worth it
plots of land that just scream, come dig in me! instead of, i really do need to be tended but it's cold out and i know it would be a sacrifice for you. or, there's too much snow and ice on me right now, so you better wait.
