Word up

Hey everyone,

It's a miracle - I'm writing on my blog de nuevo (again). I thought I'd warm myself back up to the idea of using this communication forum, so I might keep it up this following year. I don't know how it'll work out, but we'll see. Facebook is just too easy to post pictures on, so I may just periodically send y'all over to that occasionally. But - you can't write endlessly about whatever's going on in your head on facebook - so this is still a good forum for updating y'all on the latest of my reflections and happenings.

I need to be doing other stuff right now, so I'm going to make this short. Basically, right now, I'm in San Antonio, TX doing an internship - for another week or so. I'm working at a day center (called Corazon Ministries) for the homeless at a downtown United Methodist Church. And then I'm headed to Sewanee, TN for a week of reflection and presentations. Then to hang out with friends and attend a wedding in TN in August. Good times.

And I fly to DC on Sept. 11 - kind of scary/coincidental, but whatever - surely nobody would try anything on that day ever again. Our Sojourners intern group has been communicating a bit so far this summer, but lately I've not been thinking about any of it that much, so I kind of feel like I need to get on the ball - like maybe make a flight reservation and such.

Later - possibly some musings about my time in San Antonio. It's been super-interesting, but my reflecting has been happening mainly in my journal, a "verbatim" or two, and with the people around me, like Joni (Hendrix grad. who's here doing a Lilly internship too - but with San Antonio Metropolitan Ministries), my host couple, Corazon staff, etc.
