A post that I started back in Feb. of 05, when I was in Santiago:
Just a couple quick notes from today:
I was told I looked hot in a ladies' straw hat today. The mission group from Virginia arrived last Saturday, and I've been doing some stuff with them. I joined their "tea time" this afternoon, and they were talking about this cute hat that one of the women (Cynthia) found in the grocery store. She's started a trend, as it were, and so more and more of the women were wanting one. So, Joe (the leader of the group) is going around the table counting how many of the group want a hat, and of course there's going to have to be a group picture taken with all the ladies and their straw hats on before the end of the trip. A few of them were trying on the hat to see if it'd fit, and when Joe asked me, I told him I'd need to try it on first. So, I had to take my hair down, since I always have it up in a ponytail. Anyway - Joe (a 60-something retired man with a wife on the trip, of course) said that I looked hot in the straw hat. I thought this was rather funny. Anyway - so, I'll possibly be coming home with a straw hat on in July - look out, DFW.
Very quick note - tonight was the first night that I forgot A&A's medicine - I'm hoping the drops that help Adriana go to sleep kick in soon.
And, the other real note - we went to the park again this evening, and they had a car pulled in with music playing. There was a lady leading some little girls and some moms dancing to the music. It was really cute. Other people in the park were getting into the music a little, too. I think the cutest part were the moms and a grandma-aged lady on the playground getting into it.
