Hey again,
I just thought I'd comment on how there are people in and out of the house during the week, doing this and that. A part of it's that Adriana and Alain have to be looked after, but it's also a part of the way things work here, I think. For example, we have a lady that comes to clean a couple times a week - the whole shebang - laundry, scrub floors, dishes, etc., and she also interacts and watches after Adriana and Alain. Yesterday, the psychologist came, and she often has "once" with them when she comes, and she took care of bathing. I even kind of have "hours" that I'm schedule to work or be on duty. Also - not just in the house are there many people who offer services. At the gas stations, there are attendants who fill up your gas for you, and you pay through the window to them personally. There are men selling ice cream and beverages all over the place at stoplights, etc. When you go to a public bathroom in some places, there's an attendant there that you have to tip, yesterday when we went to the bank, there was a guy who supposedly watches your car for you, and at the supermarket, you also tip the bagger, who's usually around a middle school-aged kid. Oh, and when we parked at the supermarket in Quilpue, there was a guy who put a sun visor on the windshields and took it off as we left. Lots of people in uniforms doing various things!

hmm...tipping, interesting. Here, no one tips the waitresses or bar people at all...only american tourists. so, they love it when we come...but i have been told not to tip. the only various job here in finland is that they hire people for very little money to hand out the papers in the morning by the train stations. but, intersting differences. sounds like you are having a blast. see ya.
